About
The horse world is going through significant changes right now, some good, some bad. It is our mission to provide opportunity and education for those who want to learn to become good horseman, and riders, and help lead change in the industry to a more equitable and compassionate, horse focused future.
Staff
AJ has been “horsing” for 31 years and brings a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of horse care, training, and coaching to the table. In addition to being a skilled rider, she considers herself first and foremost, a good horseman.
AJ began her career as a hunter/jumper pony rider on her palomino pony Timbuktu. Quickly moving up the levels, she graduated to the junior ring riding in the hunters, equitation, and an occasional appearance when she had an extra ride in the jumper ring. She grew up as a barn rat at a show/sales barn, and had opportunities most kids do not, getting to ride multiple horses daily. She concluded her junior career with a trip to medal finals on her OTTB Carlton, and upon graduation, continued to catch ride in the north/southeast.
In 2013, she purchased her first ranch, and bought her first horse Rah, an OTTB. Having horses at home has allowed her to be able to provide education on a different level, informed though experience. After a few more years, and a lot more experience, AJ broadened her skills into eventing, western events (even buying a quarter horse), mountain trail riding and working equitation.
These days, you might catch AJ at local or regional shows with her thoroughbreds but, her passion is at home training and teaching in low-key environments.
